Plant B- Recherche sur les systèmes durables en Algérie: l’Association Agrumes-Apiculture.

Le projet PLANT-B vise à améliorer la durabilité et le rendement agronomique de l’agroécosystème méditerranéen des agrumes et de l’apiculture en les combinant dans un système agricole mixte « agrumes-aromatiques/plantes médicinales-Apiculture », à travers certains objectifs :

a) fournir de nouveaux outils de lutte intégrée contre les ravageurs des cultures et des plantes médicinales,

b) valoriser les sous-espèces endémiques d’abeilles bien adaptées aux conditions méditerranéennes avec un potentiel de résistance aux principaux parasites,

c) développement et optimisation du système agricole proposé dans la région méditerranéenne,

d) amélioration de la traçabilité de la qualité et de la sécurité du miel produit,

e) l’amélioration de la durabilité environnementale et socio-économique du nouveau système de production,

f) La promotion du ou des nouveaux produits.

Les impacts attendus

Le projet PLANT-B vise à produire des impacts concrets et positifs sur le système productif agrumes-abeilles de la Méditerranée en obtenant les résultats suivants :

1. s’appuiera sur un faible apport de pesticides dans la culture des agrumes et les ruches associées, ce qui permettra d’améliorer la productivité et le rendement économique des agriculteurs et des apiculteurs ;

2. devrait améliorer la gestion actuelle des ressources de deux systèmes agricoles autonomes, la culture des agrumes et l’apiculture, en les rendant compatibles dans la même unité agricole avec un bénéfice mutuel (pollinisation, qualité du miel) ;

3. intégrera de nouvelles connaissances écologiques, agronomiques et socio-économiques pour certifier les qualités d’un système agricole innovant, durable et efficace ;

4. développera une utilisation durable des ressources génétiques des races/écotypes d’abeilles endémiques bien adaptées aux besoins réels des apiculteurs dans différents contextes géographiques et climatiques actuels et futurs.
