Création d’une première Unité d’élevage privée de race Ovine, la Taadmit.

Dans le cadre des activités de l’INRAA, et comme acquis préliminaire du projet Socioéconomique CMARGAFE, relatif aux Ressources Génétiques Animales à Faible Effectif, une première unité d’élevage de la race Taadmit a été créée chez un éleveur privé. Cette opération a pour objectifs de Conserver et préserver cette race en voie d’extinction. Sachant que le nombre de femelles ne dépasse pas les 150 têtes en Algérie, et que le seul noyau existant à l’échelle Nationale se trouve à la station H’madena de Relizane.

La race Taadmit a vue le jour en 1922 après un croisement entre la race locale Ouled Djellal et la race Mérinos par Monsieur TROUETTE dans la région de ‘Tadmit‘ située au Sud-Ouest de la wilaya de Djelfa.

Pour multiplier et diffuser cette race, des unités d’élevages privés sont prévues dans son berceau d’origine dans la wilaya de Djelfa. Le principe consiste à vendre par contrat un module de 10 brebis et 2 Béliers à des éleveurs désirant pratiquer un élevage en race pure en plus d’autres clauses à savoir l’identification des animaux et l’établissement d’un registre des enregistrements, principalement le suivi d’alimentation et de de la reproduction dans le but de tracer le Pédigrée (le Flook-book).

Un premier éleveur a signé le contrat le 29 Novembre 2020 au niveau de la Station de Recherche de l’INRAA de H’madna après acquisition d’un premier noyau de 20 brebis et deux béliers déplacés et installés dans son exploitation située dans la région d’El Berine (Wilaya de Djelfa). D’autres éleveurs ont montré le même intéressement et leurs demandes sont en étude. Ceci permettra de créer un réseau d’éleveurs et une association dédiée à la race par la suite. Cette race est un patrimoine national qu’il faut préserver en raison de ses performantes zootechniques et sa rusticité.
